BARRETT-JACKSON / SCOTTSDALE / CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
An arrival worthy
of the collection.
Elevate what is already there. Explore how material, architecture and light can turn a working entrance into a distinctive welcome.
THE DESIGN CHALLENGE
Keep the structural tent, overhang canopy and ticket-booth positions. Preserve open, usable windows and counters. Work with the existing entrance to create a more refined, integrated frontage.
THE WORK SHOWN
Concept imagery, material studies and proposed environments from my studio’s development collection. These studies explore direction; layouts, elevations and material specifications follow a selected concept.
Establish two directions.
The light theme uses white textured surfaces, oak and agave for an airy, gallery-like setting. The dark theme brings walnut, black framing, greenery and warm illumination into a more intimate palette.

Light / Material moodDark / Material moodGive the arrival a threshold.
Portal studies translate the palettes into a spatial encounter. Slats, planting and integrated light frame a recognizable point of entry, while the supporting elements establish the approach.

Light / Portal studyDark / Portal studyApply the language at scale.
The façade proposals bring the design back to the existing structure. Cladding, window surrounds and canopy treatments integrate the ticketing frontage; the wordmark and tagline retain their established position and scale.

Light / Façade proposalDark / Evening façade proposalChange the atmosphere with light.
The showroom studies extend the exploration into the collection itself. Red graphic light and warm amber patterning propose different moods over the same architectural setting, making the effect of lighting a visible design choice.

A Route 66 photo-op concept connects automotive culture with an experience guests can step into. Timber, planting and integrated illumination carry the material language into a participatory moment.
